Lux calculation formula :
Lux=Lumens/Area in square metres

No of lights Requireds:

Step 1: Calculate Total Luminous Flux Needed

Total Lumens Needed=Room Area (in square metres)×Required Lux Level
Step 2: Determine the Lumen Output of the Chosen Light Fixture
Look at the lumen rating of the light fixture you’re planning to use.
Step 3: Calculate the Number of Lights Needed
Now, you can calculate the number of lights required using this formula:
Number of Lights=Total Lumens Needed/Lumens per Light Fixture.
We need add utilisation factor(UF) 0.6 and lighting factor(LF) 0.7 for lumens

Step 4: Practically no of lights required is

Total number of lights required = number of lights /UF*LF

Example Calculation :-
Hall Size: 20 square metres (e.g., a living room)
Lux Level Required: 250 lux (for general living room lighting)
Total Lumens Needed:
Total Lumens=20 ×250 =5000 lumens

Lumens per Light Fixture:
Let’s assume you’re using a light slim light 15w with 1500 lumens (min)
Number of Lights:
Number of Lights=5000 lumens/1500 lumens =4
So, for a 20 square metre room requiring 200 lux, and using light bulbs that emit 800 lumens each, you would need 5 lights.
5 . total number of lights for hall :-

Total number of lights= 4/0.6*0.7 = 10 NO
